Back in 2024, I had the chance to design festive graphics for OC Transpo's social media channels for both winter and holiday service changes.
For the winter service change, I drew inspiration from miniature Christmas villages, with little figurines, hanging clouds and picturesque homes dusted with snow. I wanted to ensure people would identify the area as Ottawa; as such, I chose to add the iconic Rideau Canal, the world's longest skating rink. Finally, as this was a transit service change, the design wouldn't be complete without the addition of the O-Train and an OC Transpo bus in more toylike forms.
Next, I created the holiday service change, reusing a few assets from my winter design, notably the figurine people. This time, I was inspired by It's a Small World, with its colourful geometric shapes embodying the nostalgic sense of unity and wonder one feels when riding the classic attraction. I chose to put an Ottawa twist on them by adding the Parliament Buildings and other iconic Ottawa landmarks, such as the National Gallery of Canada, alongside the looming spider statue "Maman".
